    Default Fred Dolle Russia Hone

So I got this along with a Fred Dolle Razor and a little clip that goes on the razor to help hone it or something?

Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me as I have searched on here and have had ZERO success.

    Thanks in advance!

I would image mr Dolle was a retailer and he had the manufacturer put his name on his wares. Sometimes with strops the manufacturer will put their initials or name or mark on the strop too.

My fred dolle 5/8w x 2 1/2L blade is one of my favorites. Mine has presto stamped on the front tang. I believe spender was right; though I have yet to find country of manufacture. I have pics in my profile of the wee bugger.

Just throwing this out there...but, I wonder if the clip may have been used by a barber to keep the razor on him like a pocket knife? Close at hand and ever ready. Just a thought.

The description said it was used to steady the blade to help with honing?

Who knows....maybe it was a quick access clip?
