I would be careful that the strop doesn't start sliding around and moving while your stropping. When I first started, before I got my 1st strop, I would strop on flat newspaper on the kitchen counter. It worked really well and made me wonder if I needed to buy a strop at all.

    It worked very well.
The middle hinge on your bathroom door works great. Just push up the hinge pin 1/4 inch and lay the strop ring over-top.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually have come to like using the strop laying flat on my bathroom vanity. It's working and that is what counts.

I am very careful when I strop. I've not cut myself but I could see it happening if you do something stupid.

I just used a spring clamp to hold the top on the counter, slight tension with the free hand to keep it flat.
It worked very well, I stopped slashing the strop, the shaves got better.
