    Default Strop crease ....

I have a 3 inch big daddy strop. Unfortunately through shipping it has a crease in the middle and it makes a funny sound when i draw my razor over it. Would this be detrimental? How should/can i fix it.. am i SOL?

go make yourself a nice thick lather and brush it on your strop and let it sit for a min, then rub your strop with a smooth glass object, like an empty beer bottle. Lather again and repete cant feel it anymore can you? wipe strop with damp wash cloth and let it hang dry. its fixed.......... ill send you my bill the second friday of next week

Firstly I would let the retailer know, it sounds like the packing leaves a little to be desired, i am not speaking first hand but i have read various things, such as the previous post, and just letting it hang for a while.
If it feels like a bump it probably isn't great for your razor.

    Ed is correct.

That sound is impact from the blade skipping/hitting the leather. I, IMHO, think the edge is being stressed.

If you haven't yet I would contact the seller and maybe include a picture of the area. Don't mess with it until you have their permission and likely they will send you a replacement leather.

    Soldier,
Do not try to repair the strop, as the other gentlemen have suggested; rather, return it for a replacement or a refund.

Ditto ........... if it was sent in a box that required a fold/crease, or if it was packed in a sloppy manner, that equates to a damaged piece of merchandise. Return for a refund.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
