Sometime ago I bought a new Boker Silver Steel 140512. To know one's surprise they recommended buying their professional strop.
Being a soft touch, I did so. It is a paddle strop - leather on one side a strip of slate on the other. I lapped the slate into flatness.
I am leery of putting a blade on the slate; dry wouldn't be ideal but if water is used it will drip onto the leather side and damage it.
Has anyone used a slate hone as a touch up? I am more inclined to use my Swaty or Naniwa 12000 for touch up and forget about
the slate altogether.
