I've just obtained some bridle leather to try my hand at making a strop or two. I knew it would be a low draw, but it's almost slick. Shiny, almost patent leather like. Will it break in as I use it and gain a little draw, or should I use a very high grit paper to reduce its sheen just a little?
The strop I have now is latigo, so a heavier draw. I want the bridle to stay lighter than the latigo.
Your advice is appreciated gents.
