    Default Slicker than I'd imagined...

I've just obtained some bridle leather to try my hand at making a strop or two. I knew it would be a low draw, but it's almost slick. Shiny, almost patent leather like. Will it break in as I use it and gain a little draw, or should I use a very high grit paper to reduce its sheen just a little?

The strop I have now is latigo, so a heavier draw. I want the bridle to stay lighter than the latigo.

    Your advice is appreciated gents.

Only use daily hand rubbing and do it everyday. Wipe your palm across your forehead and rub the leather until it feels a bit warm. Stop your razors as well and in no time you will find the exact draw you are looking for.

+1...Lz6 is spot on. It might take a bit of time to get the leather broken in, But follow this advice and you won't go wrong.
