Yup, I know what you’re saying, not trying to discourage you. I am always stropping on most any polish or fine abrasives I find. Like I said a piece of cardboard makes a fine experimental strop.
Keep experimenting and keep posting your results, worst that can happen is you have to joint the edge and re set it.
I strop on Mass and Mothers on a Poly canvas hanging strop, between stones when honing, to remove stria and make a straighter edge. You are going to re set the bevel on the next stone anyway, so the edge does not matter if it micro-chips.

It's an old TI paddle that I lap sanded the TI paste off (disappointing stuff) down to good leather and applied CBN Emulsion 0.1 micron.
Time will tell but so far I'm liking the results. Paddle is starting to show some color.

You can strop on .10 CBN daily, 10-20 laps, after a week or two, you will have no visible stria on the bevel and a very smooth, straight edge.
Do not be tempted to use pressure or you can micro-chip the edge. A misting of distilled water works well with CBN, just one or two spritzes from a fine plastic 2oz bottle, plant mister from a craft store. Use distilled, particles in tap water may be larger than the CBN.
By the time you are finished stropping it will have dried.
