Thanked: 3Tony Miller strop!
At the urging and recommendation of petercp4e I just bought a Tony Miller strop! I'm very excited to try it. At Pete's recommendation I'm going to get a strop from Lynn to use until I get comfortable and good enough that I won't worry about nicking the Tony Miller one. Only been straight razor shaving for a month or so at this point!

Thanked: 3795Hey, they are both great strops!
You easily can take apart Lynn's strop and then replace the leather with a few layers of newspaper. Use that to do a lot of practicing until you are comfortable with stropping on either of the strops.

Thanked: 3That's a good idea! I just got Lynn's strop in and didn't use news paper yet, but it's already miles better than my old one!

Good idea. I nicked my Heirloom horsehide and it stings a little. Still works great though!

Thanked: 3I already got a couple miniscule nics in Lynn's. They are incredibly shallow though. That won't damage my edge will it? When I get home I'll post a picture of my Tony Miller strop! It's still sealed in its plastic!
