    Default Hard felt paddle strop

Quite some time ago, I made a paddle strop from an oak bedframe slat lapped flat, hard felt glued to it and then sprayed it with 100K diamond spray. I typically use it to touch up my EDC pocketknife.

One day last week, I thought 'what the heck' and used it on one of my razors. The resultant edge was amazing.

This is the hard grey felt that they sell in craft stores for the bottom surfaces of lamps, sculptures, etc... not the soft type.

Anybody else doing anything similar? I was kicking myself for waiting so long to try it on a razor!

I have several strips of pressed wool felt with various diamond sprays as well as the SRD wool second. Without spray they are great as a post shave strop to dry the edge.

I use a SRD paddle strop with .5 and .25 micron diamond spray. That is what I finish on when honing or just want a touch up, works great.
