SRD Premium I or Premium II
I haven't bought any new shave stuff in a while and am feeling the urge to do so. Looking at a new strop and am wondering what the difference is between SRD's Premium I and their Premium II. The descriptions on the website don't really indicate whatever differences there are. My current strop is an SRD Latigo with some "learning nicks" in it but I think I have reached the point on the curve where I can spring for a new strop.

Are they bridal leather? F so they will have a little less draw than the Latigo. Tc

I have the premium II, and it is a terrific strop with nice medium draw. I much prefer it over my latigo!

Thanked: 6I am pretty much in the same predicament as you. My strop has a few gouges but don't know the differences in the leather. Since you already have a strop all you need to buy is the replacement leather piece just make sure to buy the same width as your current strop and take off the hardware and put the new piece in.

It's all about the draw, Latigo being one with lots of draw, bridle less, Roo a lot less, shell almost no draw, plus different finishes make for different draw, I myself like the glass smooth form the Kanayamas, but. Have a Roo strop that is really fast, with the bridge being right in the middle. Tc

Thanked: 6I have a Latigo. How does draw affect the blade? Less draw sharper edge?

I don't feel as if draw has that much effect on the edge it leaves, it's just preference and the more you like how it feels I believe gives the placebo effect, makes you think it's better. There are some experienced members here who will tell you that as long as the strop s finished smooth, no matter the type draw it will do the desired effect on the razor. Tc
