Mine hangs on a hook on the side of a tall cabinet in the bathroom. I'll get a pic soon
Mine at home. For travel para cord is tied to the D ring.

For the actual stropping I hang my strop from a key ring that I zip tied to the bathroom doorknob. For me, this puts the end of the strop at the proper height. Simple and easy.

Mine hangs on the top of the handrail of the steps that lead into the bedroom.
Here is the pic.

Because I'm on the road all the time, I need some thing easy. I loop a piece of para cord around the door knob creating a half hitch with extending loop and hook my strop to it.
Here are my three, the Kanayama #3 was rotated out for a break and replaced with a Kanayama #6....
SRD Roo Strop, Kanayama (Suede piece hanging behind), Tony Miller....

At home with a hanging strop, I use a hook installed into the door molding approximately in line with my navel as to height. On the road, I use a Tensio hinged loom strop picked up from Dictum.
Edit: After use at home with the hanging strop, I store it on a hook located outside the bathroom door, in a little alcove. That way it is not subjected to constant fluctuations of humidity.
Para cord and zip ties are a mans best friend Tc
Some of mine hang just outside the shower and bathroom area. The one I am currently stropping with usually hangs on the front of vanity sink cabinet.

If I travelled with a straight razor I think I'd consider a paddle strop and eliminate the need to find a place to hang a strop.

I put a screw in the side of the vanity in the bathroom for stropping. I store them on the side of a cabinet I store my shaving stuff in when not in use. I usually strop and set my counter up for shaving while the shower is warming up.

The ring at the top of the strop easily fits on a door handle next to my shaving sink, and is the perfect height for stropping. I store my strops in my closet, hanging on clothes hangers.

I went online and got a really nice hook from Restoration Hardware. Now my strop hangs in the bathroom separating my shave area from what I call Soap City.

This dragonfly hook found at Lowes a while back mounted on the windowsill works a treat with welded rings on the strops.
There are some really neat hanger styles in here.
Tom, the dragonfly is pretty original and cool
The leather strap with ring stays on the door knob and is easy to remove and take with me when traveling. I keep the strop hanging in a dry place outside the bathroom when not in use.

Hang em high I say.
I hang mine on a closet door where I push up the top door hinge pin just a bit and it hangs perfectly.
The 3 hooks on the wall were already there when I moved in, I'm assuming they were for the kids' towels. I utilized 2 of them for now and added a ring into the stud for the 2 big strops. :D
