Default Noel del Hierro cordovan/ linen strop

    Hi guys,

My name is Bogdan, I'm new to this forum and to straight razor shaving.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Noel del Hierro cordovan/ linen strop, you can get from eBay for around $45 plus shipping.

    Does it worth buying?

    See below some pictures.

    Thanks,

    Bogdan

I dont know anything about it mtself but if your new to straight razor shaving, welcome BTW to a great forum, than your going to end up cutting it up. Its just what happens when learning to strop. And at 45.00 its not too expencive to learn on. Horse is a nice strop. Good luck and enjoy the learning prosses of straight razor shaving.

It is always hard to judge something that I haven't held in my hands myself but I'll have a go.
Good quality cordovan is expensive. Chances are it will disappoint.

I also owned one by the same maker, and it was total junk. There was a big flaw in the surface of the leather that went all the way across the surface and made it useless for stropping. The hardware was of the cheapest quality.

Ill add that for not much more you can get a very nice strop from Straight Razor Designs. I believe mine was $60 or so it is 3 inches wide and maybe 18 inches long with sturdy hardware and handles. You can also select cotton, canvas or a couple other options for your primary strop material. Great bang for the buck. Best of luck sir

At that price, I'm very skeptical that it is true cordovan

Welcome to the forum. I would be suspect of a new $45 cordovan strop. That said, I bought a Tony Miller bridle strop for $50, and it is a beautiful piece of work. Not cordovan, but certainly will get the job done.
