NOS Martin J. Rubin New York 4601.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time, I was lucky enough to drop on this very rare in perfect condition, a NOS strop made by Martin J. Rubin of New York Americas oldest strop maker, a 4601 in Butt Horse Hide hand finished the surface looks amazing cannot wait to try a few razors on this strop.
I've already given a few razors a run out, interesting indeed, the linen is like nothing I've ever stropped on before, I was very sceptical and very surprised how stiff and hard the linen surface was, well after going 50 linen then 50 leather I checked the edge and to be perfectly honest it was where I expect all my razors to be with no loss of sharpness, the leather it's a sheer joy a real pleasure to use with great feedback, it's a heavier draw than the Kanayama 80000 but with better feedback.
