Received SRD's wool felt strop and 0.5 diamond spray in the mail today. The instructions say to spray it twice and let it sit over night.

There's no indication how closely I should hold the spray bottle to the strop, however.

Will those who've applied it with good results tell me how closely you held the bottle to the strop?

Also, I saw a post from Lynn saying he did 3 passes when spraying. Can the experienced/successful users tell me how many passes you did?

I did not expect that the wool would have a "grain to it." Move your hand upward, and there seems relatively smooth. Move down, and there is noticeably more friction.
