Default Needs more than a strop

Ive got a couple razors that need more than a regualr strop to get sharp. I think the edge is good enough that it doesnt really need to be sent off and honed. Would a pasted strop or a barbers hone be the next thing I should try? Ive got no experience with either fwiw.

    Maybe.

Luckily making a pasted strop or buying a barber hone is cheap

I always touch up my razors up on my barbers hone. But that is because my beard is extremely coarse and i have too strop my blade twice during the shave. Once before i shave, another after the WTG, and lastly when i do the ATG. I dull the crap out of them.

Something doesnt sound right if you need to strop during the shave and touch up your razor on the barber hone every shave.

OTOH, if it works for you, who cares

I helped someone recently that had your beard. With some trial and error, things finally starting working for them. But, they are using the barbers hone every shave or two.

By the way, my prediction for both of you is that with time, your use of the barbers hone will decrease. But, for now, as Slartibartfast says, if it is working...
