Default Can anyone vouch for this website?

Anybody seen this vendor before? He looks like he offers great quality strops, but he sells gold dollar razors, so now I am sceptical.

I've never had any personal dealings with this vendor, however he is one that is recommended to new straight razor users who may be on a budget so they can obtain the neccessary gear to get started. GD's shave and they're relatively inexpensive. If you're skeptical, you don't have to buy anything from him. Check out the other vendors here. Just my $0.02.

I still use my Filly strop I got from that site. I've heard only positive stuff, and would not fear buying again. Personally, I give it a recommendation...I like my strop! I've embedded it with CeOx and use it after my barbers hone...

I used them for my first strop. No problems working with RupRazor. It’s a great first strop; the Fyly. Especially considering that the first strop will not last more than a few days without a gash or two (if you are like the rest of us newbs).

Well I'm in the market for a new strop, as mines deteriorating from age, use, and neglect, and I want something top of the line. From what I see, ruprazor has top of the line strops. But since I've never heard of them before, and I'm ALWAYS skeptical of buying something online, and a straight razor/shaving website that exclusively deals in gold dollar razors does not strike me as a place where I would want to buy a strop. Which is why I look to SRP to vouch for them, because I'd hate to not give the guy my business because my fears are unfounded. After all, it looks like he has some spectacular strops. But some of you have liked his filly's, so that's a good thing. Anybody know of some other top of the line brands, other than dovo, jemico, illinois, thiers issard and SRD? I really want something that's the bees knees. Silver rivets and endangered bald eagle leather kind of stuff, you know?

If you're looking for top of the line strops, other than the ones you mention, member JimR is a vendor and sells Kanayama strops. I do not have the funding for one, but I hear they're extrememly nice. Tony Miller also makes great strops. He makes strops as a hobby and I don't think he is currently making leather strops, but at last vist to his website, he is making a vegan friendly strop. His website is The Well Shaved Gentleman The Heirloom Razor Strop Company . Member MickR was making kangaroo strops for a while, I don't know if he still is but you could always PM him if you're interested

I can't speak from experience as I have never bought from ruprazor before but he is typically highly recommended around here. The owner of that site is a member here Kenrup. As for the gold dollars they can be made shave ready and do provide nice shaves they are just not very highly thought of around here as they normally need work to be made shave ready and I know Ruprazor did at one point offer free lifetime honing on the gold dollar. So you know he is willing to stand behind his product.

He is fine. I usually send every newbies to him because of price cheap and learning to strop will take time . Everyone cuts they first strop.

I've used two of Kenrup's strops for regular maintenance, and given another of his to a friend. They are good strops, if he is still making them the same way he made mine you have nothing to worry about. Interested folks should check out SRP's strop reviews section to learn more about how Kenrups' and others' strops fare
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage
