    Default Four sided strop

Would it be wise to get a four sided strop so I can put different types of paste or balsa or diamond paste on it to use right after my honing the reason why I ask is there is a honing video by toxic waste and he used different types of diamond paste in his four sided so would it be a good idea to use the same methods as his to better the polish of the blade after my honing

JMO,but I would be concerned with cross contamination,I play around with the pastes and sprays also, but use a single paddle for each, maybe is not a big deal, just my thoughts on it.

As mentioned above, you have to wipe the blade when changing from one paste/spray to another to avoid cross contamination. I'm not sure what your goal is, but I don't understand the need.

I've always felt that pastes just complicate the honing process. I never have used them and just stick with stones and leather. The results are fine.

As you should,But take a paddle with Crox, place it on a white towel, strop, you will see some of the material powders off even on a lightly pasted paddle.

My personal opinion is to find the one paste or spray that works the best for you and stick with that one. So, I guess that means you may want to try some of the ones out there. I have found that .5 micron is really my sweet spot. I am also finding that less strokes are working better for me these days. I only use 5-7 strokes at first when using the .5 micron after a finishing stone. The diamond sprays work best for me on felt because of the cushion the felt provides and are very reliable. The chromium oxide or cerium work well via either a past or spray and can be effective on leather, webbing or felt. Balsa is my least favorite media to apply pastes on. I have tried the .25 and it works well sometimes but I find only 1-3 strokes works best for me.

The pastes and sprays are a lot of fun to play with and can be very effective for that last little bit of smooth and sharp in a shave. Even if you take the razor over the top sometimes, usually just a few strokes on your finisher will bring it back to good.

    Have fun.
