SRD 3" Premium IV (long) English bridle strop
I recently picked one of these up and all I can say is WOW. Such a huge difference a quality strop makes! I'm NOT going to miss having to do an X pattern, that's for sure.

Nice choice with the bridle leather. I think SRD has the largest selection of strops available to a straight shaver in a single place online. : )

Thanked: 3222Yea, I would never have a strop narrower than 3 inches for the same reason.

Thanked: 247I still do somewhat of an x stroke and find the results to be slightly better than a straight pull...YMMV.
I would like to have one of these SRD strops...they look nice. What is your second material?

The second material is a stiff webbed fabric. I'm curious if it retains the stiffness or breaks in over time.
The leather is amazingly supple. It reminds me of a pair of deerskin boots I have in my closet.Everyone has to believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer.

Both the fabric and the leather will break in with use. A daily palm rubbing on the leather will keep it conditioned very nicely. Enjoy.
