    Default Streich-Rieman strop

I have a Streich-Rieman paddle strop. It has a stone surface on one side and a leather surface on the other. Can I use the very smooth stone surface as a hone or should it only be used as a strop (e.g. what can be the direction of pass of the blade)?

It's a very fine slate stone. Use it like you would a barber hone

Btw, Streich-Riemen is German for 'strop' .
