Thanked: 1587Stropping a Scale-less Razor
Not that I am in any way certain that anyone has issues with this, but I got bored again and decided to make a video of how I strop one of those new-fangled scale-less razors made popular by the likes of Spazola. In this video I am using my custom Boxer razor made by Stu (member Str8Raz0r) on my kangaroo strop in my recently renovated bathroom! Life doesn't get much better than that, I can tell you!
My apologies in advance: for some reason the movie editing software on my Mac wouldn't import the sound in the video off the camcorder, so in the end I just uploaded the whole thing to youtube "raw" and unedited. On the bright side it is only about 2.5 minutes long. And true to form, the lighting is terrible - so terrible in fact that youtube actually said "we notice your lighting is terrible" and then rather helpfully, I thought, offered to fix it for me. Shame it had no appreciable effect, but at least they tried.

Nice video. Since I now have 7-8 of the one-piece razors myself (including one from Stu), I can tell you that each one requires a bit of a different approach to stropping. The various handle lengths and configurations mean that I have to adjust for each one.
But once I have figured out the best grip for each razor, the actual stropping, as you impressively demonstrated, is still the same.
