Not sure if this is the right place but Just thought I would share this for anyone else interested,
as a newbie I can't justify big dollars for a stand or 2, which are possibly not even required, from some of what I read on the arguments for & against on hanging or standing brushes & razors to dry etc.
So using a bit of imagination as I wanted something a bit different, whilst saving my pennies to support my RAD I made these stands (at 3 months using a Straight & 8 razors in the collection, I think is definately heading in the RAD direction) .

They are both from a single piece of 3mm copper wire (from old large cables at work),
whilst flat & tapped together I shaped a 8mm (3/8") loop on a bar for the razor tang rest & then about a 80mm (3") loop for the bases,
then a 25mm (1") fork for the brush & a 12mm (1/2") fork for the blade rest around some small pipe fittings
I wrapped the 2 vertical arms/post with some very fine shiny tin coated wire (again from some small old cables at work) with like a noose type pull knot at each end,
soldered the end to keep the fine wire from pulling apart, before I bent the flats shapes to the angles to suit my blade & bowl etc
then just gave it all a light hand clean & polish with the same Autometal polish I use on the blades
this set up holds my brush above the $2 Stainless steel special soap bowl I found.
I used small heat shrink on the rests and a sicone grommet in the Razor tang rest hole purely so I don't have my blade or brush resting straight on the copper to help avoid any corrsion possibilties
3 months in use and no green discoloration on the copper yet and if it does just means a new wipe & clean with the polish

the rest of my razors either in the shed in progress or kept in my bathroom draw in homemade sleeves made from a $10 silcon coated handgun sock (should have bought a rifle sock as I am already out of sleeves)
