Thread: red imp restore question/cleaning

just acquired a red imp razor looks like it was never used but the razor is dirrrttyyy.. started to clean the razor up with blue magic and its cleaning up great. While cleaning, under all the dirt it looks like someone scratched there intials into the blade. the blade doesn't requiure any sanding because with the blue magic it cleaned the entire blade and scales up.Any ideas on how i could try and remove the scratches from that part of the blade without damaging or having to sand the entire blade..

If there's scratches or initials carved into it then there's only one way to get them out..sand or buff them out.

I personally would leave them given the amount of work to get them out - and I kind of think it's cool to have a little history with it.

cats right, you can leave it be, or just sand the part that has the initials then rebuff but sometimes blending everything together can be a chore. is the end worth the work? really all that you can decide in this case.

Pics? How deep is the scratch?
You could probably sand it out with 400 or even 600 grit SP.
If you use a cork with SP taped on it, mounted to a drill, it makes a nice light grinder. I have been able to get a blade face to a nice even fresh-ground look at 600 grit. Or continue on up the grits to a high polish.

Are they scratches or someones initials carved into the blade?

Someone scratched there intials in on blade. Ill get pics up
