Correction razor slowly springs open when closed
it sounds to me like you have a wedge issue. It seems to me that that happens if either your wedge isn't quite thick enough or if there isn't enough flex in your scales, both are very similar issues. Basically it is squeezing your razor and it is tapered causing the blade to creep out.
Maybe post a pic of the scales... this way we can get a look and maybe see something.... :tu
If the tang spreads them apart on the way closed it will push itself back out. Once again, wedge issue. May need a wider one. If you went from an old celluloid or plastic to wood that would be the first culprit to look at from my limited experience.
Maybe it always wanted to be a kamisori.

Any pictures of this yet Chet?
I had this problem once... The tang would push the blade away from the scales... Thicker wedge fixed it
If it sits where its supposed to before it moves, the easy solution is to file the inside of the scales where they push on the tang.
I suspect the scales are too rigid; probably too thick.
Yep that fixed sanded the scales and works like a champ. Yes my scales are thick 3/16th. This was my first time making scales.
