Made new wooden zebra wood scales but they won't stay closed
Scales slowly open when closed. What did I do wrong? The alignment is centered. Please help

Thanked: 4828it sounds to me like you have a wedge issue. It seems to me that that happens if either your wedge isn't quite thick enough or if there isn't enough flex in your scales, both are very similar issues. Basically it is squeezing your razor and it is tapered causing the blade to creep out.

Thanked: 1184If the tang spreads them apart on the way closed it will push itself back out. Once again, wedge issue. May need a wider one. If you went from an old celluloid or plastic to wood that would be the first culprit to look at from my limited experience.
