Thanked: 9Wester 34 options
I started SR shaving last month and while home for the Christmas recovered my Father's Wester 34. Scales are in good shape, no rust or pitting on the blade although it was not sharp enough to shave. It originally had a square point and I am guessing was 5/8. Not sure if it was done intentioally but the blade now has a slight smile with the toe set back 1/16". The setback on the heal is neglegable. So my question, should I hone this blade straight which would reduce it to 4/8 or just leave the existing profile alone. I was able to sharpen it to pass the HHT but it does not seem to shave as smoothly as the other razors I have. Any opinions will be appreciated.
