My Granny Davis ALWAYS laid a kitchen towel DOWN in the BOTTOM of the sink when she washed her good china! She also always turned the faucet away from the sink while she washed and rinsed!!
Damn I miss her!

Had a great experience that may be helpful to all you members in the atlanta area. Found a local business, Whetstone (Larry is the owner), who hones. He makes pick ups from The Art of Shaving stores in atl. He helped me out with the ding and I had my razor back the next day. I'll start a new thread with his business info.
Great to hear that you are back in the saddle again! Let us know how the edge feels as compared to out of the box!
The edge felt the same as it did out of the box..great. Then again, I only got 2 shaves in before the ding. The blade was a week old. Brand new essentially.
Great! Now quit rinsing in the sink...
Great advice on the rag over the faucet and in the bottom of the sink.
Personally I keep a damp cloth on the countertop at the edge of the sink to strop the foam off the blade.
