For me, it's my coffee table :) The sander and bandsaw sit in the laundry room though.
Actual work space for me is a piece of 18mm Mdf about 600mm by 600mm!
Kitchen Table and Coffee table, depending on what I am doing.
Cool. :tu
I saw pix of someone's workshop online and got intimidated.
Ah don't be!! I work in a fully kitted out furniture making workshop, and i could have done 98% of it at home!!
Better at home... TV, beers, limitless coffee. IDEAL!!!
Mine is the top of a bookshelf, in front of my desk, sitting on a foot stool. If I can I'll try and post pictures later....it's rather pathetic. :(

I also use a coffee table for restoring and honing while watching TV.
+1 more for Coffee table while sitting on couch watching TV :)
I am actually planning on setting up a work bench in the garage when I get it cleaned out. I like using the coffee table, but I really want to set up a general, designated work area in the garage. I am planning on laminating together a nice 4 in thick top this next week while visiting my Dad over spring break. Figure ill pick some nice, solid 2x4s, plane them down a bit. Lamintate them and then sand the heck out of them to get a nice, durable surface. Build a nice cabinet under it with casters, there ya go. Solid, portable work bench that I can secure a vice to and everything.

I really do need to have a good look at that Bill Ellis CD...thanks for the realization I don't need a 400 square foot facility. :D
when I travel the festivals during the summer making and repairing jewellery and knives I take my portable jewellers bench that I made.
it is a piece of 5 'ply' plywood that is 1 inch thick, 2 foot deep and 3 foot wide, fitted to a basic 1" X 1" wood frame that clamps into the top of a black & decker adjustable workbench.
I can do just about everything on that and it disassembles and folds flat in under 2 minutes for storage.
So how much space do ya want :D
