Worn out Wedge Style razor - Re-grind or a new idea !!!
Had an Aha !!!! moment in the shop today and want to flesh it out a bit...
I was thinking about this thread

And the razor from it

Then what Rune/Zephyr said in the thread, which is advice I have also given multiple times about not grinding down the spine even more because it makes the geometry even worse..
As I was in my Zenfucious sanding scales state of contemplation :p a thought came together in my horn dust addled brain
When people buy a near wedge razor they do so to shave with that heavy blade not a Hollow Grind, for at least 100 years the fix for a worn wedgey razor has been a "Re-grind" which hollows out the heavy steel...
Then it hit me :hmmm:
I have always said you can't add steel back to the razor so you have to add tape or re-grind -BUT- I proved myself wrong on that, and sort of did it once

By adding a Brass spine back to a Frameback

So thinking it through as I sanded away, I started imagining a reverse process, where instead of hollowing out the old wedge, you would even it up and then add a Brass or SS spine back on..
This would be much easier to do, and would keep the heavy steel wedge feel to the blade which was the reason to buy it in the first place...
Thoughts ????
