So I decided to take my Top Flight with the trashed scales and my Clauss with the trashed blade and put the good parts together.

I'm happy with the finish of the steel. Had some serious pitting that can still be seen. The scales cleaned up really nice.
But my pinning technique is awful. Somehow I pinned the scales at an angle and nothing is lined up.

Not sure how well you can see it in the photo, but it's not good enough to stay that way.
I need to unpin and start over. Flush snips probably the best way to remove?

BTW, I didn't use washers as I was trying to make the pin match the pin at the wedge which didn't have washers. Should I ignore that and just use washers when re-pinning?
