1/8 of inch chip in Goldedge
some time ago i ordered a lot of dubl ducks, one stainedge, one special 1 and a gold edge, the goldedge has a chip wich i knew about. the satin and the special 1 are great. Shaved with the satinedge this morning awsome! anyway, the goldedge is a 6/8 and i figure if i can get the crack out it'll end up being a 5/8. Whats the best way to get the chip out? anytoughts? anybody managed to take such a big chip out and still have a viable shaver? should i tape the spine?

Here are the Before Pictures
Heres the before, and hopefully the after are gonna be ready soon ! :) I think im gonna do it by hand, altought the belt sander technique is intriguing, I do not own a belt sander, and to tell you the truth the idea of using a power tool on the goldedge kinda scares me. Not for my personal safety but rather for the safety of the Blade!! Im affraid that since i am pretty unexperienced using a belt sander would result in cracking the blade wich thank god it is not! I dont care if it takes me 12 hours im doing this by hand! :) and i think im gonna get more satifaction out of it! Plus like you mentioned C utz i should do wonders for my honing technique :)
