To give some perspective, here are the dimensions:
Blade width: 0.97" (about 31/32")
Spine thickness: 0.09" (3/32")
Since this wacky creation doesn't have the normal raised spine that I can use as a honing guide, I used my custom knife jig instead. The angle is determined by where I set the jig, not by the geometry of the razor. If I actually laid this wedge flat and honed, the angle would be:
2*arctan((0.09/2)/0.97)=5.3 degrees. That would make for a really flimsy edge. So, I set my jig to about 10 degrees on each side, which is really a full angle of 20 degrees, closer to how real razors are honed. The reason the bevel looks so big is because of the wedge shape of the blade. A hollow-ground edge would show a smaller shiny area.
