Thanked: 8Ideas on finishing scales in an unheated shop this winter!?!
Gentleman,
I just moved into a new place with a garage I've turned into my shop. Let the production begin! Then it dawned on me, how will I do a CA finish or even just a spray on finish if it's 30 degrees outside??
My plan is to build some sort of heat box to finish scales in. I'm thinking a plywood box roughly 1 ft x 1 ft x 2 ft with a heat lamp inside of it.
Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work?
Better ideas?
Sean

Thanked: 8Pixel, I already bought a heat bulb, it's only 125 watts. I can always use that for something else. Do you think it would be overkill and give me weird results?

Thanked: 4830you might want to have a thermostat monitoring the heat inside that. That is a pretty small area for a 150watt heat lamp. The old Easy Bake Ovens were 60watt bulbs and baked cakes in 30 minutes, granted the cakes were tiny and the area smaller. I think you are making an oven is what I am trying to say.
