    Default Wade & Butcher "restoration"

This is my first "restoration" of sorts. I bought this W&B on ebay in fall of 2014. It was my first W&B and WOW did it need some TLC..... I really didn't know what to look for. I heard W&B are GREAT shavers..... And nothing but great things about them. They can be a tad pricey too. I have no idea of the age or anything like that. When I got in the mail I was excited about it. It was different looking from others I have seen. I thought....maybe this is a rare razor? I didn't know. I posted some pics on another site. I was proud of it. Well needless to say, the comments I got wasn't what I wanted to hear. Obviously it had been reground, and according to some, not a very good job. I seriously thought about returning it to the seller. Then a certain someone who is very active on here told me...... "Shine it up, get it sharpened up and shave with it. Show these guys what a great razor it is." Well today I got this W&B finished. I spent maybe 8 hours sanding it. Took it off the scales. Polished it up. Cleaned the scales. I even repinned it. Set the bevel, honed it up nicely and shaved with it this evening. This is my first actual "restore". Not very fancy. It ugly by some people's standards. BUT it's gave me one helluva of a great shave! Here are a few pics to show the before and after. So not bad for a first time?

Like I said.... Not the prettiest W&B, but it's my first and a keeper as far as I am concerned. I still have a ton to learn and will only get better in time. Not too shabby for someone who read "The How To's" and watched a ton of videos on how to do work on my own straight razor. I do the best I can with what I have......

Is it over there or over yonder?
