Size: 19.4 KB I guess the first is the Wade and Butcher barbers use. I was visiting a friend not to long ago and he handed it to me and said see what you can do with it. It has some dark spots on both sides of the blade and the scales were in rough shape. You know bug bites some wear and a little cracking around the hinge pin. Sorry about no before photos it seems I don't think of them until I start taking the after photos. any way when I got home I removed the scales and started in with the wet dry 220-400-600-800-1200-and the 2000 paper. when finished with those I went to the basement and set in with my home made buffer. this buffer consist of my Harbor freight Minnie drill press and those buffing pads you use on a hand drill. looks funny but works. When this was done I decided to replace the scales with some off another razor. just swapped them out you see. now all that's left is to hone and shave and take it back to see my friends opinion.

The B B S Beri Bertenburg was a razor I saw on the bay that no one wanted. it had a very small nick on the edge. almost not visible. There was a small amount of surface rust. you could almost wipe it off with your finger. I ordered it the nick honed out with regular honing and the rust came off very easy. this one shaves really good. a really nice and easy one to play with. the blade is about 7/8. I really believe it had never been honed until I got it. but then again I've been mistaken before.

The last is a Prima by Edel Stahl. 5/8. It had a broken scale. again I don't believe this one had been honed either. I replaced the scales and there are a couple of dark spots but I decided not to remove them. there not enough to worry about. honed it up and it shave good.

I put the two Solingen razors here to let the guys here know that if they are looking for a project that takes little skill (and my skill is little) and not much in the special tools department then there out there. and for me it's a lot of fun.

I got the Wade and Butcher honed up today and as no surprise it shaved good and was not that hard to hone
