Literally thousands of manyears have been spent by craftsmen to figure out how to make better razors; Craftsmen in many different places of the world, who did nothing but make razors and scales for their entire career. They all ended up with very similar designs. For someone to say that they know better after making a razor or 2, is arrogance, plain and simple. If you don't see why they didn't do, X, you probably need to look harder instead of assume they all missed something blindingly obvious.
If spacers were just as good as wedges, they would have used spacers, since they're easier to make and easier to use.
too many knifemakers think that a razor is just a funny shaped knife, and refuse to learn.
