It's nice to try new things, but tried and true has value.
With my W&B celebrated with bog oak scales, I wanted to try out 100% tung oil. Should have tested it. It darkened and subdued the colors, I didn't want that. And it did not make a strong finish (the scales scratch and dent with the least amount pressure).
CA would have been better (or equivalent), it highlights colors and wood details. And is a strong enough barrier.
Two part epoxy finish is stronger though.
The tung oil I used takes forever to dry as well.
Anyway just thought I'd share the mistake.
