    Default Tunbler for cleaning

I've hear rumors or people running their blades through a shell tumbler to clean them. How does that turn out? Still have crisp edges? I'd assume the pitting would still need to be sanded out.
    Thoughts?

As the thread show they work pretty well for cleaning and leave a nice semigloss finish, but as you guessed they do not remove healthy metal. It will take out the black and expose more pitting than you started with. You need t o be very patient. It is also a great place to finish a blade.

I recommend one blade at a time. Others will say more than one is ok, but I've had some nasty chips show up on high dollar blades by following not advice that proved to be wrong. IMO it's not worth the time and risk of using other methods. Any method besides hand sanding will have significant risks...

Absolutely i only ever go one blade at a time. More than one and you are asking for trouble. There is a ton of different media out there too, I just like the results from walnut shell so I keep going with that. There is ceramic and glass tumbler media, and shot too I believe.

Looks like it works. And, that was a lot of work to do the pics and posts.

What is sad is only you and ChrisL are still active in this forum.

Sweet! What is Black Magic? I haven't seen it... oh, maybe I have. What about Mother's... how does it compare.
