Thanks, I have Blue magic n Mass. Dremel on a slow speed sounds good.
I'm in no rush to tackle that blade any how :)

I go simple and use Q-tips, take your time, do it in between commercials and you can do a blade an hour.
Clean Q-tip to take all the polish off.
Murphy's Law : If your razor has rust it will be deeper than the etching.
Always do the least possible to preserve an etch
I used a little wire wool and metal polish.. I need daylight to have a good look but it seems to have worked nicely.

Checked my work in the daylight this morning.
Kinda took a bit too much off.. The frosting around all the letters has gone .
So wire wool and metal polish was a bit too strong. It looks ok in the pictures because the camera flash is hitting the blade.
One more lesson . I'm learning more here than I ever did in school .
It looks good.
You have so much etch on that blade that polishing around it is near impossible.
Dont even think about hot vinegar. It will darken the etch but all the surrounding metal.
Only way would be... Nope not going to give you the gun or bullets for this one.
It looks damn fine the way it is, and the more you work with it the worse it will be.
I ruined lightened to many etches trying to enhance them.
If and BIG if you cant let it be.
Use a sharpened pencil into the etch. Graphite will highlight and gently polish.
Lastly I dont see any rust. Is this correct??
If no rust the pencil is least invasive if etch has any depth. No depth leave alone.
There is no rust. The reverse side needs some sand paper ..
Adding a bevel will a challenge. Trying to get it as thin as possible , plus there are some chips in the edge.
Maybe some kind of clear plastic would work for scales.
I have so many W&B to work on at the moment that I will oil it up, add a bit of masking tape and bag it up for the time being.
thanks for the pencil tip.
