    Default Razor age

I have a question and hope this is the appropriate venue to ask it.

I see people talking about how they bought razors here and there, then looked it up to find the age and other information. Where do you find this information? Is there a book or website to check in? Any information or guidance would be very appreciated.

There are books too. You can get them on eBay from time to time.

Thanks. I also just picked up a new autographed copy of Standard Guide to Razors for $23.50 shipped. It seemed like a good deal.

I just started looking through "The Razor Anthology", a compilation of razor-related articles that appeared in Knifeworld over time. Looks promising with many interesting articles on razor manufacturers included. Helpful photos, descriptions and dates. I have it through a library, but from the looks of it, plan to buy a copy somewhere.

Another one I have "ordered" through the library to evaluate is "Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings" by John & Charlotte Goins. I've seen it quoted as the source of dating a razor.

Another fun source, though less focused on razors are the various reprints of 19th century catalogues like Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Bloomingdales. Again, I looked through some at the library and they have many razors in them.
