Well almost..!!
I saw this departure from our normal pics as an opportunity to try some stuff that had been collecting dust.
The soap was not so good. It took a lot of effort to get a lather. I will try it as a pre-lather for a few days.
The razor belongs to my barber. It honed well and I took it directly from a 16K Shapton to my face. No stropping. It shaved well.
The Old Spice Cologne belonged to my wife's uncle. Not a lot of scent left. The bottle is ceramic so it is a keeper.
Al in all, not the most comfortable shave but good enough.
This was a fun project.
Glad you guys like the description. It's the best I could do with out a camera. I've got to get the neighbor kid to come over with his camera and computer skills so you guys can see what I shave with.
Very nice turn out to the Tarnished Tuesday SOTD gentlemen! Well done!
Good one, Martin!
Boy, the old aluminum cig case brings back some memories!
Yeah been carrying that thing for a few decades now...not necessary a good thing...
Not sure I'm going to get in with the razor I initially wanted to, but I have one that's fitting, and I've yet to shave with it.

Being as I am furthest to the West is makes sense to me that I should be the last to post. The picture did not do this beauty justice. The matte deep gray on this old girl has some depth and inspire the fact that you cannot see it in the picture the full blade etch is in fact there and full depth. Some nice pictures my friends. It is back to the salt mine for me.
Could be wrong, but it seems Thug put up a fairly worn-out Henckels?
Very nice Shaun.
Love that patina eh!
It does look so. I sent him a PM last week to join us.
BTW shaving cream that I' ve posted, expired two years ago :) that's called really tarnished
I got mine up there. Still kinda salty about my blade and having the prettiest non-meeting bevel this side of the Mississippi... However, I think I was able to capture the sand marks better.

Aside from a fresh edge, needed not much else.
Cheers.
Impressive turn out and some real beauties in there. Nice Rodgers tuzi, and Joe that F. Fenney is simply stunning. Great photo Martin, I like them all. Thug, you should have saved the Henckels for "worn out wednesday"...can we do that?..I have some classics...
That razor was the Pitts, had some spit to get past. Resisted all the way. Just about gave up, but got there in the end and finished on Thuri. Besides getting bit for the first time in a couple of years from rushing, shave was top notch. Just goes to show, you can't judge a book by it's movie...
This was fun, thanks Gents.
Really nice posts men, terrific tarnished heroes all,, clearly I like my tarnished girl so nice, I posted her twice..
Sometimes we forget it's really all about the edge. The rest is glitter and personal indulgence levels..
Don't get me wrong, I do have a very high level of personal indulgences as it comes to shaving, but sometimes just a quick shaves all it takes.
Cheers.
Thanks all for noticing my old F.Fenney! I debated restoring it further, now I'm glad I didn't. Love the character some of those old 'warhorses' have earned over the years.
Just want to thank everyone for their participation in the SOTD today, and to those that haven't, or couldn't.
It was a great turn out, and some really nice lookin workhorses were brought out for another shave.
Funny... We all got great shaves from these relics, where most folks wouldn't even think about purchasing a razor in these conditions.
Again.. Thanks everyone.
CHEERS..[emoji482]

Well-said, outback Mike! T'was a ton of fun! :tu
The SOTD is really one of the things I appreciate most about the forum. Really cool!
Seems Max had a tough time deciding the feature though... :D
Leatherstockings, two days running! :beer1:
I wouldn't mind trying Phrank's razor on my chin.
A smoking deal! :)
(Depends on what you are smoking?)
It'd be a fine wind chime, Phrank! I will take 5.00 US as compensation for taking it off your hands! HAR!
Seriously, A walk-off homer, Andrew! :bow
As I said before.....Let's not make a habit of this. Too much fun! :)
If we can get some unity going there once a month, it would help-out the fine individual shaves in-between. JMHO
I am certain Max might be open to some suggestions for themed-shaves. Just ask about it! :)
It has been great to see all the less than perfect blades that we all keep around. Thanks gentlemen.
Pics of the water etch in the waterville, as promised.
