Thanked: 2Is this razor restorable/worth restoring?
Hey guys I found this razor on ebay and was wondering if it was worth restoring/restorable. The pitting worries me even if it is a wedge design. There is plenty of blade material to work on as it is 1 1/8 inches.

Thanked: 636It has a lot of deep pitting. You will not be able to get it completely out. Big question is does the pitting affect the edge? In other words is there enough solid steel to hone the razor shave ready?

It looks pretty rough. Did you buy it? If so I would just clean it and polish it as well as possible and try to put an edge on it. If you haven't bought it.... well....don't.

Thanked: 3215Can it be restored? Maybe.
As said, you won’t know until you see if it can take an edge. It is unknown if all the pitting will come out, or if the pitting has weakened the steel, if it will not shave, what’s the point?
There are tons of Wade Butchers on the market, and nothing particular, about that blade that would make it an attractive purchase.
When planning a restoration project, begin with a razor in the best condition, you can afford.

Thanked: 77I almost bought this razor myself. not sure about fully restored but it can definitely be brought back to shave ready. But looking at the pitting I would say you would have to have the blade re-ground and the pitting look on the tag will probably be permanent. Also after regrinding I wouldn't expect that razor to be much larger than 7/8 of an inch if at all. But this is just speculation.
