Hi guys!
So I bought a wooden strop and a chromium oxide bar. I've seen on the internet people warning the strop on success tops and rubbing the chromium oxide bar on it. Is it the right way to apply bar/solid chromium oxide? Also, after you're finished stropping, do you clean the strop of the chromium oxide? Sorry for the newbie questions!
Once you put chromium oxide on a porous surface it will always have some amount of CrOx on it, there is no way to really clean it. However you need to keep it from getting dust and contaminants on it. There are a few ways, I wrap mine in paper, you could keep it in a cupboard, or make a fancy case for it.
Keep out inside the under sink cabinet? Should I wrap it in saran?Quote:

Nice setup, yeah paddle strop that's the name (sorry ESL here). Mine is double sided to do in using chrome oxide on the rougher side and nothing on the smoother side. Thanks for sharing!Quote:
