    Default 6"+ Shokwood Scale Material?

Anyone know a good place to buy alumilite/burl blanks that are at least 6"? The scales I want to copy are 6.25".
They don't have to be Shokwood, just looking for that type of material. If they can cut down to 1/8" that wobe even better.
These pistols scales are a good example of the look I'm going for. Probably want to go with blue, red, or black.

Ive never played with the wood mixed with plastic. They do look a bit different. Cant help you on locating it but i think a couple folks here on SRP have made some.

My suggestion would be to reach out to some of the folks that make it. A lot of this product is made by small companies. They usually don't have anything that long, but you can ask them to watch for it.

Also, a lot of them will take an order and make what you want without jacking up the price. Here are some folks to check with:

AAOCustoms on Etsy. Those 1911 Govt Model grips in your post look like they may be his.

Exotic Knife Handles. https://exoticknifehandles.com/ Heath is backed up on custom orders until the end of the summer, but may have some that have turned out longer.

Ctek, C-TEK Ryan doesn't do shockwood as far as I know, though almost everything he does is made to order.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. There is one site with a few 6" blocks called exoticblanks.com.
I probably will have to get something made by one of the smaller businesses. I already contacted AAOCustoms and they said they couldn't do it.

Why not reach out to the manufacturer? They might be willing to custom cut or make something for you.

I made a set of scales and had issues withe resin separating from the wood

I ended up gluing them back using CA and then did a typical 10-12 CA coat.

The trouble was mid lower scales

You may want to consider lining your scales. There are a few guys here that have had nice success with metal and G-10liners with this type of product. I know MikeB52 did some cool stuff in the vacuum pot and pressure pot experiments thread.

6" is already hard to find. I have no idea where to find it larger than 6.
I bought shokwood from USAKnifemaker and hybrid from brisa.
