    Default Painting pressed horn

I've received quite a few PM's on how I go about doing this.

I start by making sure the scales are flat, and clean. Make any needed repairs first, if there's any cracks or delamination, the paint will wick into them. Wipe the scales with denatured alcohol to remove any oil from the surface, tape off as much of the scales needed to only expose what is being painted. Now its a preference of either spraying, or brushing the paint, on.

Let it dry for a bit, then give it another coat and let dry completely. Then I use a small strip of hard neoprene ( mouse pad) lightly moistened with lacquer thinner, and very lightly wipe the paint from the surface of the scales, a small section at a time. U must go slow, allow the paint to dry some between wipes, or you take the chance of pulling it all back out of the stamps. Especially shallow stamps.

If ya screw up....wipe it off with thinner, try again.
