Just got a new Dovo with yew scales.
After first test run noticed water marks In the wood.
I expected the wood to have a better finish.
Any reason not to put coat of minwax paste on it?

I generally seal wood scales with a few coats of clear Danish Oil. It soaks in and seals he wood.
I make my own danish oil ....its a great finish. And usually finish with minwax .
I don’t want to get any solvent, linseed, varnish on the razor
You can use minwax paste on it without any problems. You will probably have to rub it in several times over the following week to get the wood oiled back up.
