I was searching for pins, rods and washers with diameter of 2.5mm (nichel).
I'm trying to rescale a Kintaka blade with padouk wood.

Hi there. That's a very big pin diameter . Usually they are 1.6mm.
Or do you mean the outside diameter of the washer is 2.5mm ?

Thank you, I saw most of diameters are 1.5/1.6, but the hole of the pivot is 2.5 inside.

If it's that large you might need to consider some welding rod or similar. Some hobby stores may have something that diameter as axles for toy cars etc.
Or make a sleeve out of tube with a smaller rod inside ?

The thing that I will do is to leave the diameter of the pivot at 2.5mm inside and then make the end thinner to 1.5mm diameter. I still do not know how I'll do it, but I think it's the best thing to do.

I created a 2.5mm outer diameter washer and 1.6mm inside diameter
So I think I'm okay, then I'll show you the scales made yesterday by me in padouk

Good call to go with the bushing to reduce the hole diameter. It looks like it should work just fine.Quote:

A lot of older, vintage razor have larger or ovaled holes. It come from wear of the fact that they were stamped not drilled. So a little slop in the hole is not a big deal. But the bushing is always best.
I've used a nylon earbud tube as a bush in the past it can work a treat, it will hold a 1/16 or a 1.5mm pin perfectly snug.
I went looking but couldn't find it but if memory serves you can use the top of an ink pen as a bushing to take up some of the slop.

I don't have a way of measuring the ID but a 1/16" brass rod has slop but a 5/64" drill bit is very snug. My made by the C. H. Ina caliper show this as the ID;

The first thread in the Workshop Forum ( sticky, Welcome to the Workshop: How do I / Where do I / What do I / answers are here ) has a ton of links to HOW TO and WHERE TO find parts. Or Texas Knife, most any knife supply will have pin stock in most any size.
But, yea just sleeve the hole. Just make sure your hole is straight or that you epoxy it straight if there is slop. Drilling a tapered tang, can be tricky.
You can make a jig with a piece of wood and piece of pin coated with paste wax to hold the sleeve in place as it cures, if the hole is larger than the pin.
Cut your tube with a piece of rod in it makes it easier.
