Thanked: 2284Cleaned up a nice little Pipe razor.
I remember finding this one at the antique store, and it having a little higher tag than I wanted to spend at that time. (Too many razors in the restoration pile, need to be fussy with what I buy) After thinking and pondering, I decided the $45 was worth spending on this little beauty. It had everything going for it, great blade face etch, unique spine/shoulder grind, hump back tang, and original led wedge and scales.
Oh and that patina!!!
Finally got around to working on this blade this week. Took the razor entirely apart. Fixed the bug bites on the scales, removed all the rust from the blade while keeping that beautiful patina. Re-pinned with double stacked brass washers, polished everything up and put it through the hones. My grandfathers old King 1k, Norton 4/8, and finished with a vintage Coticule. Really looking forward to the shave tomorrow morning!
Thanks for looking boys!
