    Default 18th Century Style Blade

Something a bit different. 18th century style blade in 1084 steel.

Does the blade thickness taper, from toe to tail..?

Overall, it looks good. Typically, their wider and thicker, at the toe

Yeah tapers from about 5mm at the toe to 1.5mm at the end of the tang. Not really precise since I just ground the taper in by hand since I don't have a surface grinder but good enough. I'd like to start forging razors instead of stock removal, would be much better for these style of blades and even putting rough bevel faces into razors would save time grinding but I just don't have the room atm.

Was just looking at it sitting beside another razor I'm finishing up, amazing how the form has changed over time.

I really like this one, one of my favorite blade shapes.
