    Default W&B Wedge Customized....

    Ok.
Here is a blade that I have taken forever to get to. It's my most recent restoration, but not the only one I have been working one. Two things I like about this work, which is new for me, is the design on the celluloid scales (well, sort of a design), and the goldleaf inlay on the tang.

It's a 7/8" W&B with an etched blade (Steam Boat). I slapped on a set of NOS celluloid scales. Now, the scales I had to shorten to fit the blade, so I decided to get a little 'fancy too'. I put a satin finish on the ends of the celluloid scales, just for kicks to see how it would come out....I like it! I'm thinking of trying a little more fancy designs in the future. (we'll see if I have the time for that though).

The tang and spine of the blade are blued (well, more like 'blacked'), and I used a rub on goldleafing for the writing on the tang. Sort of a, "I wonder if this will work" thing. It did! Perhaps this can be used for replacing all that tang coloring that gets removed when we polish up these refurbs? (i.e. Re-Blue the d.duck goldedge tangs!).

OH, and the end spacer is red bloodwood. Sorry for the crappy Photo's....The scan's look better.......

For anyone interested, this razor has first refusal by someone....If they do, and they might, it will be posted in the b/t/s area (It's honed and ready, and not afraid of heavy beards!!)
