Thanked: 44Wade and Butcher Featheredge
OK so some of the guys who were there late in Ohio wanted me to polish something so I pulled out this odd old W&B Featheredge lancet type blade that was like most 150 year old W&B's. It was heavily tarnished and rather pitted. I went at it on 1 side with the stainless polishing compound but eventually we ran out of time and people wanted to go home. Well I finished polishing the blade today. It ended up with only a few puts I didn't take out on the back since they were deep to start with. The rest of it is now mirror. I am also debating putting custom scales on it but the horn ones are great so who knows. I will hone it up and see how it shaves since I haven't tried one like this before. I thought you might appreciate seeing the final result especially if you saw me start it in Ohio.

Fantastic work!
I wonder if that blade design was a fashion at the time (like the Lancet seems to have been), or if it was a wedge reground to have the lancet look.....
What "Stainless Polish" is it you use?

Thanked: 0Outstanding work, Chris. Looks really good. Question for you. I recently picked up a few razors at an antique store and one of them has this style of blade (thick spine then thin blade.) It is called a lancet as well?
